see all reviewsI really loved this class! I’ve taken a few boxing classes before, but this tops all of them. The gym itself was clean, the staff was friendly, and the actual setup was great. I liked that the rounds were split up between floor/circuit training and the monitors were really helpful for when that listening comprehension doesn’t kick in until the pre-workout does. Kevin was an awesome coach - he was high energy, had good music, and I liked that he walked around to help with technique during the bag rounds.

My endurance is extremely low right now, and the short rounds with active recovery sprinkled in were perfect to keep me going without totally tanking in one area. I am a bit sound sensitive and the instructions over the music were almost at my threshold, but not intolerable like some of the more club-style places. Instructor’s mic was cutting in and out and was difficult to understand despite high volume, so I’d definitely recommend any beginners choosing a station close to the center where the instructor is demonstrating. I was off in a corner so largely relied on following what the folks in front of me were doing. I have some familiarity with the basics so that helped me keep up, but it’s also not a situation where you have to be perfect to get the full benefits. Definitely arrive 15-20 min early for your first visit. I was running behind and skated in with barely enough time to get my hands wrapped and just jumped in, but one of the staff would definitely have gone over the basics with me if I had needed or left the time. Overall I felt very comfortable, had a great time, expect to feel it tomorrow, and plan to be back!

Highly suggest when doing center group practice on both sides , we can do 4 or 5 people each group, instead of 3, so that there will be a sooner switch between right to left side, thus pianist will have a sooner break for next round , I hope that will help for all of us. It was easy to understand the instructions, even if I couldn’t do all the moves yet, and Abby was so great to have! I highly recommend this class for anyone that has been tempted to try. The instructors and front desk were so attentive it felt like it was a small group class even though there were a ton of us in there. The corrections, modifications, and advancements were tailored to each person as they walked around the room, they all made me feel welcome and I knew exact where I needed to be at every point of the workout. They were all really encouraging. On top of the experience- the workout was perfect! I went on a glute and back day and I am so excited to try the other formats.
